Chuck Darter has joined the Peoples Bank Board of Directors. Darter graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and is a Texas Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He has been a CPA for 35 years. Darter serves on the board of the Zephyr Foundation and on the Calvary Baptist Church Finance and Personnel Committee. He is married to Maria Darter, and they have four children and six grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family.
Melanie Emmel Promotion
Melanie Emmel was promoted to Senior Vice President and serves as the Manager of Teller Operations for all of our branches. She has been with Peoples Bank for ten years. Emmel volunteers with Meals on Wheels and Homework Hall, a tutoring program at a local elementary school. She is married to Brian, and they have two children, Hope and Eric. “Melanie is an amazing ray of sunshine with her great attitude, wealth of knowledge, loyalty and dedication,” said Larry Allen, CEO and Chairman of Peoples Bank.
Kelli Sehon Promotion
Kelli Sehon was promoted to Bank Secrecy Act Officer and is an Assistant Vice President. Sehon joined Peoples Bank in 2013 and has been in banking for 17 years. She is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist and is a member of the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists, as well. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends and spoiling her nieces and nephew.“Kelli is quick to lend a hand to anyone that asks and always has a great, positive attitude,” said Larry Allen, CEO and Chairman of Peoples Bank.
Lacie Walton Promotion
Peoples Bank Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Larry Allen, announced the promotion of Lacie Walton to Mortgage Department Manager. Walton has been with Peoples Bank for five years and has 25 years of experience in mortgage banking. She graduated from Frenship High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Texas Tech University. Walton is very active with the West Texas Homebuilders Association and the Lubbock Board of Realtors. She also serves on the finance committee at Wolfforth United Methodist Church and volunteers with Lubbock Meals on Wheels and Homework Hall, a tutoring program that Peoples Bank participates in at Miller Elementary.Lacie is married to her college sweetheart, Mike Walton, and they have one daughter, Carley. In her spare time, she loves to travel, read books and she is an avid Red Raider fan!
Baraka Murimi Promotion
Baraka Murimi was promoted to Banking Officer and Internal Auditor. Murimi has been with Peoples Bank for 2 years. He earned his Accounting Degree with a specialization in Internal Audit from Louisiana State University. He volunteers with Camp Read a Lot and Homework Hall, two tutoring programs that Peoples Bank participates in at local elementary schools, Wright Elementary and Miller Elementary. Shari Hanna Promotion
Shari Hanna was promoted to Banking Officer! She joined Peoples Bank in 2017 and serves as a Mortgage Closer. Hanna has been in the mortgage business for 17 years and enjoys volunteering with the Boy Scouts. Her and her husband, Alan, have been married for 18 years and they have one son, Jack. “Shari is very knowledgeable, works from early to late to get things done, has streamlined our closing process and is always smiling,” said Larry Allen, CEO and Chairman of People Bank.
Peoples Bank Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Larry Allen, announced the promotion of Kelli Lytle to Banking Officer at Peoples Bank. Lytle is a Customer Account Representative and Lending Assistant at our newest branch, located at 11011 Quaker Ave. in Lubbock. Lytle has been with the bank for 4 years. She volunteers with the South Plains Food Bank, serves as a tutor at Miller Elementary every week and served on the Review Committee for the Lubbock Area United Way this past year. In addition to her volunteering, she is a member of the Auxiliary for the Lubbock Professional Fire Fighters Association. Lytle is married to Teddy Lytle, Lubbock Fire Fighter, and has two children, TJ and Kyndal. They are active members at Redeemer Church.
