Does your involvement in the community make a difference? The answer is a resounding “yes!” Whether it's helping others, participating in events to make your community stronger, or bringing your family closer together by working together on community projects, your volunteer efforts have a definite impact.

There is a multitude of ways you can volunteer in Lubbock, and at Peoples Bank, we strongly believe in the power of community involvement. Here are just some of the many ways you can serve others while helping our community stay strong.

High Point Village

The mission of Lubbock's High Point Village is to create a village where individuals with intellectual disabilities can achieve their full potential by living, learning, working, and worshiping together. They offer Reach High, Afternoon Enrichment Classes, a Special Olympics Team, Summer Camps, and other social events while striving to bring enrichment and meaning into every activity.

A vital part of High Point Village's success is its volunteers and supporters. It's only through your help that it can be the fun, welcoming place that it is. Get started volunteering here.

CASA

Another great way to volunteer in Lubbock is through CASA of the South Plains. CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates, and their volunteers serve as advocates for children who are victims of abuse and neglect. They also provide a voice for children whose cases are in the court system. CASA's mission is to provide a volunteer for every child while securing a safe, nurturing environment.

Community members just like you help ensure that each foster child's needs aren't forgotten in the welfare system. Get involved with CASA today.

The Inside Out Foundation

The Inside Out Foundation was established in Lubbock to meet the aesthetic and emotional needs of women who've suffered physical and emotional loss due to disease, environmentally-caused skin and hair conditions, traumatic events, severe burns, and abuse. All of its services are free to clients. Learn about volunteering to TIOF today.

Feed Seniors Now

Comfort Keepers and Lubbock Meals on Wheels have partnered to start the Feed Seniors Now initiative. The program features its Weekend Sack program that's designed to make sure seniors have enough food for an entire weekend during times when no one is delivering food. Meals on Wheels is another great way to volunteer in Lubbock, and it’s always looking for regular and substitute drivers who will deliver meals. Learn about how to support these initiatives here.

American Diabetes Association

Did you know that 33,000 people in Lubbock live with diabetes daily while over 85,000 live with prediabetes? The ADA of Lubbock has a variety of volunteer opportunities that will help expand its community outreach and impact, intensify its advocacy efforts, as well as raise the money necessary to fund its mission.

Peoples Bank takes pride in its roots in West Texas, and we work hard to make it a better place for every member of our local communities. We hope to see you out serving one of these organizations sometime soon!
